Corny Pick Up Lines: Aren't All Pick Up Lines 'Corny'?
Corny pick up lines can be overheard at bars, clubs, grocery stores, sidewalks, and everywhere else there are guys looking to bed women.
Sometimes these corny pick up lines are planned and carefully integrated into a much more complex seduction technique, and other times, well, guys have no clue what they're doing.
Corny pick up lines, usually the ones that are "canned" and have been regurgitated by millions of men, are only "corny" if the man who is saying them is a loser. Give the same corny pick up lines to a guy who has character, presence, confidence, and flair, and you've got yourself some great material to work with!
"What do you mean, Jesse? You saying corny pick up lines could work?"
Um...yah. That's what I'm saying.
One of my favorite ways to open with girls when I wasn't feeling so creative was to use one of those old, tired, corny pick up lines that women laugh at in their little "circle of death" cliques.
Seriously.
I'd walk up to a woman I wanted, use a slight variation of one of those corny pick up lines like "God called. He's missing an angel and he sent me to retrieve you."
What do you think happens? They laugh their ass off. Even the snobbiest, uptight bitch will at least give you a smile. Then, almost always, we'd start talking about how corny pick up lines are.
Unfortunately for most guys, what they choose to do next is often a super blunder.
Guys don't take very well to girls laughing at what they say or do. This affects how they carry on the conversation. And it is at that moment when insecurity and low self esteem really stand out, leaving you hanging out by yourself and looking like a total idiot.
See, it is not corny pick up lines that are ineffective in seducing women, it is corny guys that ruin it for themselves!
I would have no problem excusing the corny pick up line as merely a way to break the ice and continuing by intriguing a woman with what I said afterwards. My charisma and personality are far more prominent than some of the silly things that come out of my mouth, and women see that.
It's not easy to successfully perform, but you could make any of those corny pick up lines work if you developed healthy confidence and knew how to emit passion, charisma, and character.
Hugh Grant, the biggest bumbling cornball that Britain has exported to Hollywood, says "oopsie daisies" and girls go raving mad. Why? He has charisma and is charming, that's why.
Pick up lines, a simple hello, or even an "excuse me" could potentially be successful at picking up a girl. It all depends on the guy. You could choose to spew one of these corny pick up lines or use a "canned" opener suggested by many seduction gurus, but in the end your success depends on how you carry yourself afterward!
This is why I push guys to first work on themselves before ever trying to hook up with girls. It is the foundation that is so strong that it can carry you through anything, even corny pick up lines.
